Find a bike or scooter for your everyday rides
Browse second-hand bike and scooter ads for Ahmedabad City on Zutilo and contact the person who posted the ad. Compare what suits your daily travel, riding position, storage needs and budget. Before setting off, confirm that the vehicle is still for sale and ask for the exact place where you can see it.
Check the model, variant, year of manufacture, kilometres shown and asking price together. The registration date may be later than the year it was made. An Activa, Splendor or Bullet name alone does not tell you its age or condition. Ask about the number of previous owners, service records, accidents and replaced parts. If you can travel beyond the city, look at bikes across Ahmedabad district or elsewhere in Gujarat.
Compare the full cost, not just the asking price
Compare similar models and years rather than a small scooter with a larger motorcycle. Worn tyres, brakes, a weak battery or overdue servicing can add to the price. Ask a mechanic what likely repairs would cost, and clarify insurance, ownership-transfer and any transport charges before agreeing on a total.
For an electric scooter or bike, ask about battery age, charging time and the distance it currently covers on a full charge. Check whether its charger is included and ask for a demonstration. Do not treat the range advertised for a new vehicle as proof of this used vehicle’s battery condition.
See the vehicle and have it checked
Meet in daylight at an agreed safe place. For a petrol bike or scooter, ask to see it start before the engine has been warmed up and check for unusual sounds, smoke or leaks. Look at tyres, brakes, lights, steering and visible repairs. A clean repaint or a short video cannot establish its condition. Consider an independent mechanic, especially if you are unsure about engine work or accident damage.
Take a test ride only with the seller’s agreement, the appropriate driving licence and a helmet, where it is safe and lawful. Check that the vehicle feels steady and that the controls work normally. If there is a fault, ask for a repair estimate instead of accepting a promise that it will be cheap to fix.
Check ownership before paying
Check that the vehicle matches the registration certificate, often called the RC, and confirm the registered owner’s identity. Compare the registration and chassis numbers, and the engine number where applicable. Review insurance, the pollution certificate where required, and any recorded loan. If someone is selling for the registered owner, establish their permission and the owner’s involvement in the transfer.
Agree on the price, included keys or charger, payment and handover in writing after inspection. Ask the relevant transport office about the required documents and follow the official ownership-transfer process; signed sale papers alone do not complete it. Keep the payment and transfer acknowledgement, and check that the registration is updated. Do not send an advance merely to reserve an unseen bike. Zutilo connects you with advertisers; it does not inspect vehicles, arrange finance or complete the transfer.
Give buyers clear details when selling
To sell a bike or scooter in Ahmedabad City, use recent photos of the actual vehicle from both sides and show any damage. State its model, variant, year of manufacture, kilometres, asking price, service history and viewing area. Say if the registration year is different. Explain your relationship to the registered owner. Mention faults, modifications, loans and which keys or accessories are included.
Arrange viewings at a safe place and agree on test-ride conditions before handing over the keys. Keep personal details on identity and vehicle documents out of public photos. Check payment in your own bank or payment app rather than trusting a screenshot, and never share an OTP or payment PIN. Keep the sale record and follow up until the official transfer is complete.
